Boil dal until they become mashy and set aside
Now heat ghee in a pan and golden fry onion slices and keep aside
In the remaining oil add cumin seeds asafoetida, corriander leaves, green chilli
Pour the tadka in the dal and mix golden frid onions
Now heat little oil in a pan and cook garlic cloves and red chilli powder
Pour this tadka on the dal and serve hot
